KOCHI:
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) State president and national leader Anu Chacko demanded death penalty for the accused in the Hyderabad Veterinary doctor rape victims.
Inaugurating the protest march here, she said that the severe punishment to the accused will help in curbing atrocities against women and children. She said that a section of the youth are moving in a wrong path and this is leading to the brutal attacks against women.
She pointed out that if the judiciary had given severe punishments to similar cases earlier, these incidents would not have repeated. Advocates should not come forward to represent the cases of the accused, she added.
RJD State vice president Jose Akkarakkaran, district president Joshy Thomas, treasurer Devi Arun, general secretary V K Thirumala, members Jamal Kothamangalam, Salim Palarivattom, K D Viswanathan, Mercy Kumbalam, Philomina, and Aami Thirumala spoke.
