Rotary Club Kochin West to Come Up with Samaritan Project

Samaritan, a project initiated by Rotary Club Kochin west in association with VPS Lakeshore Hospital and Kochi City Police to train students on trauma and emergency care, was inaugurated by Kochi City Police Deputy Commissioner Yathish Chandra at Bhavans Vidhyamandhir School, Girinagar.

Better awareness in trauma and emergency care can save lives during road accidents, heart attack, snake bites, animal bites, poisoning, work site injuries, food chocking, sudden seizures, strokes and other emergency situations. Dr. Lassar Chandi, accident and emergency department head of VPS Lakeshore Hospital, conducted the first session training program of Samaritan Project for the students. And an awareness class on road

safety was carried out by joint RTO Adarsh Kumar. S.K Abdullah handed over medical kit to S. Sunitha, Principal of Bhavans Vidhyamandhir School. The inauguration and first session training programs of Samaritan project was coordinated by Ajithkumar Gopinath, Rotary Club Kochin west president, Benny George, Rotary Club Assistant Governer, K.C Philip, former Governer, M.K Renjith, Sheela Sara Abraham, Dr. A.A Muhammed, Dr. S. Ansar, VPS Lakeshore Hospital, Dr. Arun Ummen, consultant neurosurgeon and Laila Thomas, head nurse.
