Star Health Insurance Offers Revised Super Surplus Floater Policy

Star Health and Allied Insurance Company, India’s first standalone health insurance company, has reintroduced its Star Super Surplus (Floater) Insurance Policy with new exciting features at an approximate 30% and 50% reduced premium under Gold and Silver Plans.

Star Super Surplus, a Top Up Plan, offers a high sum insured at an affordable premium that pays for medical expenses after exhaustion of deductible/ defined limit under each policy year. The insured person can get the benefit of higher sum insured at an affordable premium to meet any unforeseen medical expenses.

There are two plans available under the policy, Gold Plan and Silver Plan
The Gold Plan now comes with Recharge benefit, Pre-existing diseases are covered after only 12 months waiting period, Organ Donor expenses are also payable up to the sum insured and Delivery expenses are covered after one year waiting period.

After completion of 5 policy years the Insured can opt for any indemnity based health insurance policy offered by the company, with continuity of benefits. The Super Surplus policy now also covers all day-care procedures up to the sum insured. Star Health had first launched Super Surplus (Floater) Insurance Policy keeping in mind the magnitude and unpredictability of the treatment cost of illnesses and associated complications, which were beyond the scope of a regular health policy.

The Star Super Surplus policy covers a family of two adults and three children. The policy can be purchased without any pre-acceptance medical screening. Along with hospitalization expenses, it also pays for both pre-and post-hospitalisation costs over a period of 60 days to 90days, depending on the plan.
The premium amount for a family consisting of 2Adults + 2Children with the eldest insured person being 35 years with a deductible of Rs.3Lakhs and Sum Insured of 10 Lakhs, under Silver Plan – Rs.2,207/- (including GST) under Gold Plan – Rs. 4,030/- (including GST).

Star Super Surplus is the third product that the company has revised in the current financial year. Prior to this the company has updated its Star Diabetes Care and Star Cardiac Care that were special policies developed catering to needs of people already diagnosed with diabetes and cardiac related ailments.
