KANNUR:
Aster Hospitals launches ‘Zindagi’, a specialized treatment program, to economically disadvantaged bone cancer (sarcoma) patients. This scheme aims to offer quality medical care to individuals battling bone cancer at affordable rates from Aster Medcity in Kochi and Aster MIMS in Calicut. The Zindagi scheme was formally introduced by the Former Health Minister, K.K Shailaja, MLA in Kannur.
The program, spearheaded by renowned cancer specialist Dr. Subin Sugath, Senior Consultant – Orthopaedic Oncology proficient in the surgical treatment of bone tumors in both adults and children, as well as metastatic lesions of the spine and other bones. His experience and dedication to patient care serve as a beacon of hope for those battling bone cancer.
“With accurate diagnosis and timely intervention, bone cancer can be completely treated and cured”, said Dr. Subin Sugath, Senior Consultant, Orthopaedic Oncology.
The Zindagi scheme was conceived to ensure that financial constraints should not hinder underprivileged patients from accessing critical treatment for diseases like sarcoma.
The collaborative efforts behind Zindagi involve Aster DM Foundation, MIMS Charitable Trust, and Aster Volunteers, along with the participation of prominent public figures like A. M Arif MP, MLAs P. K Kunhalikutty and K. B Ganesh Kumar, and other People’s representatives. This multi-faceted approach aims to expand treatment accessibility and provide necessary financial assistance through crowdfunding for eligible patients.
