Credai State Conference Begins at Kochi

Kerala will be the first to launch centralized software for all local bodies from 1 st January, 2024, announced Minister for Local Self Government Department while inaugurating 7 th edition of CREDAI State Conference at Chakolas Convention Center, Kalamasserry. Chief Minister will be launching the software in January at Kochi and anyone can do all transactions and get permissions using smartphones, he said. It will revolutionize the operations of local bodies and couple of other States have expressed interest in availing services of the software.

K-SMART, once implemented will eliminate all complicated formalities and one can get building permit in 30 seconds, if all the relevant documents are accurate and uploaded. The software has been developed with latest in technology like ChatGPT, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning, enabling the beneficiary to experience transparent and hassle free transactions to get fast approvals, he asserted. Kerala is undergoing exponential growth in urbanization and all local bodies in association with professional bodies should take up the challenge with proper planning and adopt new development methods with thrust on for waste disposal at source and reuse of sewage water, he emphasized.

Master plans should be designed for local bodies keeping in mind the fact that only sustainable development which ensures green cities is the need of the hour, Adv M Anil Kumar, Mayor of Kochi Municipal Corporation urged.

India is up for major leap in construction and developmental activities in the coming decade which demands extensive cooperation of local and professional bodies, Boman Irani, National President of CREDAI said. It also requires collaboration among all companies engaged in the construction industry, to design and develop mega projects, he reiterated.

Minister released the report on Kerala’s real estate – destination Kerala, the next big real estate growth story, compiled by Cushman & Wakefield, knowledge partner of CREDAI at the meeting. Ravi Jacob, Chairman CREDAI Kerala, Dr. Najeeb Zackeria, Conference Chairman, Adv Cherian Irani, Secretary General and V S Sridhar, Managing Director, Cushman & Wakefield also addressed the meeting.
