Wattlecorp’s Zuhair is Head of Cyber Security Group of Dubai Govt’s Chamber of Commerce

Wattlecorp Founder and CEO Zuhair Elambilassery has become the Chairman of Cyber Security Group of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, becoming the first Malayali to head the Cybersecurity Group of the non-profit society working to support the business community in the Dubai.

Zuhair, a native of Kozhikode in north Kerala, will now lead the Group that carries out critical tasks such as meeting the needs of various cyber security organizations operating in Dubai and bringing new cyber-security issues to the attention of the administration. He becomes the first chairman of the body that works to strengthen the Dubai’s cyber security.

A former executive with full-stack customer engagement platform Exotel and e-commerce service provider Storilabs, Zuhair has also worked as a consultant for several high-profile startups such as Uber, Flipkart and OLA Cabs.

Wattlecorp, which started operations in Kerala in 2018, went on to expanded services to Gulf countries, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The company, which is incubating under Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), provides advanced services to ensure the cyber security of organizations operating in different sectors. Prominent among them are Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Abu Dhabi National Hotels, Emirates Medical Association, Orange Mobiles, CookieYes and Toyota. Wattlecorp has played a key role in the cyber security of these national and international organizations.

KSUM Chief Executive Officer Anoop Ambika, while hailing Wattlecorp and its CEO, said the international community on cyber security is looking keenly towards the companies from Kerala. “Zuhair’s achievement adds to our pride,” he added.

Zuhair said his becoming the chairman of the Cyber Security Group of Dubai Chamber of Commerce is an acknowledgement to the eminence of Kerala’s startup ecosystem. “The recognition comes at a time when cyber security is gaining increasing importance the world over,” he noted.

Wattlecorp is currently working on a virtual security consultant called Wattlecorp Security Suite which is a cybersecurity data quantification solution that segregates complete cyber risk built using AI and ML. Wattlecorp is also an active member of organizations such as CAFIT, G-Tech and Nasscom.

KSUM, which was established in 2006 under the Kerala government, works for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in the state.
