  • India Skills Kerala 2018: District-level Contests Begin

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
    The three-day district-level competitions of India Skills Kerala 2018, being jointly organised by Industrial Training Department and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), began on Tuesday.
    Competitions in 15 trades are being held at the ITIs at Chackai, Attingal, Kazhakuttam and Dhanuvachapuram in the district. The restaurant and service skills competitions of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha regions are being held at BTC, Kollam.
    K. Sreekumar, Corporation Health Standing Committee Chairman, Thiruvananthapuram inaugurated the competitions at ITI, Chackai. The ITIs in Kollam, Kollam (W) and BTC are the competition centres of Kollam district. L. Anil Kumar, Panchayath President, Perinad inaugurated it at Chandanathope ITI. In Pathanamthitta, the competition centres are at Chengannoor, Chenneerkkara, Chengannoor (W) and BTC Kollam, where competition will be held in 15 trades. Kala Ajith, President, Chenneerkkara Panchayath inaugurated the event.
    The ITIs at Chengannur, Chengannur (W) and BTC Kollam will have competitions in 15 trades for Alappuzha district. Sudha Mani. N, Block Panchayath President inaugurated the competitions at Chengannur ITI.
    In Kottayam district, Elsamma Mathew, Panchayath President, Athirambuzha inaugurated the event at Ettumanur ITI. It will be held at the ITIs at Ettumanur, Kalamassery (W) and Pallikkathode in 14 trades.
    The competitions in Ernakulam district were inaugurated by Jessy Peter, Municipal Chairperson, Kalamassery at ITI Kalamassery. At Chalakkudy ITI, Municipal Chairman Jayanthi Praveen Kumar inaugurated the event while K.P. Shyja, President, Block Panchayath, Malambuzha declared it open at Malambuzha ITI.
    In Malappuram district, Ambayathinkal Muneera, Panchayath President, Areekode inaugurated the competitions at ITI Areekode. In Kozhikode, Corporation Councillor Rathidevi. K inaugurated the competitions at ITI, Kozhikode. In Idukki, Manoj. M. Thomas, Municipal Chairman, Kattappana inaugurated the competitions.
    Sanitha Jagadeesh, Chairperson, Municipality Education Standing Committee, Kalpetta opened the event in Wayanad. Lissy. P, Vice Preisdent, Block Panchayath, Edakkad, inaugurated the event at ITI, Kannur. Fathima Ibrahim, Chairperson, Municipality, Kasaragod inaugurated the event at Government ITI, Kasaragod.
