The foundation stone of Emami Paper’s greenfield multilayer packaging board project was formally laid by Vijaybhai Rupani, the Chief Minister, Gujarat at Bharuch today. The project is the maiden venture of the Company in the State.

RS Goenka, Joint Chairman, Emami Group, Aditya V Agarwal, Director, Emami Group, and other Board of Directors of Emami Paper Mills Limited along with other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

Spread over a land area of around 103 Acres, in Saykha Industrial Area at Bharuch District in Gujarat, the upcoming multilayer coated packaging board manufacturing plant of EPML with a total capacity of 2.25 lac Tonnes Per Annum (TPA) and 18 MW Captive Power Plant will be set up at an investment of around Rs 1000 crs. in the first phase. In the second phase of the project, the Company will double its capacity with an equal additional investment towards installation of a new machine. The Project has already received the necessary environment clearance from the Government of Gujarat.

Speaking on the occasion of the foundation stone laying ceremony, Aditya V. Agarwal, Director, Emami Group said, “Emami Paper is the largest producer of Newsprint and one of the leading producers of Multilayer Packaging Board in India with a total production capacity of 3.35 lac TPA. With the setting up of the first phase of this greenfield project at Bharuch, Gujarat, the total production capacity of the Company will increase by another 2.25 lac TPA and generate an additional business turnover of around Rs. 1,000 crores. Keeping in view the high quality infrastructure and ease of doing business in Gujarat, we target to complete the first phase of the project by early 2020 and commence our commercial production in the first half of the same year. This project will play a key role in establishing Emami Paper Mills as one of the largest packaging board manufacturers in India. We are highly thankful to Government of Gujarat for speedy allotment of land and environment clearance of the project.”

P.S. Patwari, CEO, Emami Paper Mills Ltd said, “We are the largest newsprint manufacturer in India supplying newsprint to almost all leading dailies in the country.
