“Appuvinte Sathyanweshanam” – Malayalam Movie Bags 3 International Film Festivals Awards

“Appuvinte Sathyanveshanam”, a feature film directed by Sohanlal and produced by Dr. A.V.Anoop of AVA Productions & Mukesh Mehta of E 4 Entertainment has bagged three International Awards.

The movie which started its journey in International Film Festivals with premier screening won the Special Jury Award in San Diego International Kids Film Festival, the USA and the best feature film Russia – “Nadym International Film Festival” & “Votkinsk International Film Festival which was organized by ‘Festival Plus’ a non-governmental organization. The Festivals had participation from more than 39 countries.

The film which centers on the realistic approach of a child in understanding the truth based on the Gandhian values reinstates about being true in all aspects. The lead role as Gandhian was played by Dr. A.V.Anoop who has worked predominantly in the Malayalam movie industry is a dedicated stage artist and a strong proponent of theatre.

After bagging the award, an elated Dr. A.V. Anoop, Producer, AVA Productions said, “I am deeply grateful and honored that our film has received three internationally acclaimed awards. The film is a simple depiction of the moral predicament of the nine- year-old boy Appu and the inspiration he draws from his Gandhian grandfather about the sense of goodness in treading the virtuous path. Gandhian values and philosophies are a guiding light to mankind even in the midst of the turbulent times that the world is living in. I feel that as a filmmaker I wanted to espouse the teachings and principles of the Mahatma to the younger generation. “

Apart from the international awards the movie also grabbed awards for “Best Costumer & Best Child Artist” at Kerala State Film Critics Award and Child artist Master Ridhun also won the award for Best child artist for the movie at the 49th Kerala State Film Awards held at Thiruvananthapuram Kerala. The film was shot by National award-winning cinematographer, M J Radhakrishnan. The main cast also includes Manian Pillai Raju, Sudheer Karamana and Meera Vasudevan.
