CTCRI-CISSA Workshop for Banana Farmers Organised

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI), Thiruvananthapuram in association with the city-based Center for Science and Social Action (CISSA) organized a Banana Farmers workshop today at the Kalliyoor Gram Panchayat Hall. The workshop was inaugurated by V Lathakumari, Member, District Panchayat.
Classes on topics such as ‘Use of tapioca-based organic pesticides in banana farming’, and ‘Organic farming methods’ were led by Dr C A Jayaprakash, Head, Crop Protection Department, CTCRI; N Sreekumar, Organic Farming Scientist and Dr. C S Raveendran, Vice President, CISSA.
R Jayalakshmi, President, Kalliyoor Gram Panchayat, presided. S Kumar, Vice President, Kallliyoor Gram Panchayat; and P Padmakumar, Welfare Standing Committee Chairman, spoke.
