  • Cyber Cricket League 2025: Zen Blaze lifts trophy

By Media Team on November 27, 2025

    KOZHIKODE:

Zen Blaze emerged as the champions of the Cyber Cricket League 2025, the annual cricket tournament organised by the Sahya Cricket Club at the Government Cyberpark.

In a gripping final played at the Cyber Sports Arena, Zen Blaze chased down Calicut United’s target of 45 runs in just 7.5 overs, sealing a confident and clinical victory.

The finals capped off a tournament defined by spirited competition, workplace camaraderie and strong participation from tech professionals.

The IPL-format tournament saw each team putting its squad together through an auction process, bringing an additional layer of strategy, planning and friendly corporate rivalry.

This year, 10 teams competed in the league, which commenced on 18 November. A total of 100 employees from Government Cyberpark, UL Cyberpark and Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) registered for the tournament, reflecting the increasing enthusiasm for sports-led engagement programmes among IT professionals.

In the semi-final, Zen Blaze had secured a 10-run victory, defending a modest total with disciplined bowling and smart on-field positioning.

Calicut United, the other finalists, delivered an equally impressive run in the tournament. Their semi-final win against Welkin Wits, achieved by eight wickets, demonstrated their strength as a balanced side capable of quick chases and steady partnerships. With a dynamic mix of experienced players and young talent, Calicut United entered the final with confidence.

Phoenix Renegades’ Sajen Basil was named Player of the Tournament for his all-round impact and consistent match-winning contributions. Calicut United’s Jithin was declared Best Bowler. These awards underscored the league’s focus on valuing individual skill while celebrating collective effort.

The final match drew enthusiastic participation from the Cyberpark community, with players, colleagues and families gathering at the Cyber Sports Arena to cheer on the finalists.

Government Cyberpark COO Vivek Nair was present at the finals as chief guest and lauded the organisers for fostering a culture of wellness and recreation within the tech workforce. Also present were Cafit Treasurer Nidhin, Joint Treasurer Shiyas Mohammed, former President Abdul Gafoor, UL Cyberpark Sales Leader Saneesh, IDFC Calicut Manager Vipin Shankar, and Tournament Coordinator Sanjayar Krishna. Their presence highlighted the growing institutional support for employee engagement programmes within the Kerala IT sector.

The Cyber Cricket League 2025 also reflected broader workplace trends in the state’s digital ecosystem. With companies increasingly prioritising employee well-being, collaborative culture and cross-organisation engagement, sporting events such as this have become vital platforms for networking, team-building and stress relief.
