  • HLL’s HITES to Maintain Bio-medical Devices in Mizoram

By NE Reporter on May 24, 2016

    NEW DELHI:
Public sector HITES has made early inroads into the health sector of the country’s remote and economically-backward Northeast, as the HLL Lifecare subsidiary is now in charge of maintaining the bio-medical equipment in the entire state of Mizoram.
The initiative under the National Health Mission entrusts HITES with the task of upkeep of devices such as CT scanners, X-ray machines, colour doppler, ultrasound scanner, patient monitor, defibrillator, lab equipment, laparoscope and bronchoscope in 76 hospitals and health centres of the tribal-dominated hill state.
These include 57 public health centres, eight community health centres and 11 general hospitals, following an agreement signed recently between Mizoram State Health Society for Comprehensive Medical Equipment Maintenance Program and Noida-headquartered HITES, which is uniquely positioned as a comprehensive solution provider in India’s healthcare sector — from concept to commissioning including facility management.
The pact was inked recently with the administration in Mizoram, which has incidence of cancer on a degree higher than other states, pointed out S N Sathu, Chief Executive Officer of HITES, which is now officially the construction and executing agency of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
HITES has taken up a clutch of similar projects across the country, besides having been appointed as the project management and supervision consultant for the upgradation of government medical colleges under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
The nascent company’s aim is to improve India’s healthcare delivery system by setting up world-class infrastructure and state-of-the-art medical equipment while integrating all the functions into a single unit and plays a supportive role in improving healthcare across the country.
HITES also offers facility management services — a niche area that warrants specialisation in both hard and soft services, including operation and maintenance besides integrated building management, housekeeping, security services, horticulture services, warehouse management, hospitality services and other support services.
