Kollam: The dispute between Kerala Government and Self-Financing Engineering College Management Association continues with each camp refusing to budge.

The State government has taken the firm stand that firm view that admissions to all seats should be made from the candiadate list prepared on the basis of the state level common entrance test.

On the other hand, the Self-Financing Engineering College Management Association demands that their colleges should be allowed to admit students on the basis of the Plus Two Exam marks.

The dispute is only about the management quota seats in the private management colleges and admission to the merit seats in such colleges is not affected.

Prof K Sasikumar, the President of the Association said that if the Government stuck to its stand, more than 40,000 seats in private engineering colleges would remain unfilled. Last year itself, 11,000 of a total of 55,000 private college seats remained vacant, he said.

The Association said that it would not allow such a situation to continue this year.
