  • K Paul Thomas Elected as Chairman of CII Kerala State Council

    KOCHI:
    Thomas John Muthoot, Chairman & Managing Director, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, the flagship company of Muthoot Pappachan Group, elected as the Vice Chairman of CII, Kerala State Council for the year 2019-20.

    Paul Thomas is an Indian social entrepreneur acknowledged for his unique approach to addressing the socio-economic problem through financial inclusion based on cooperative principles. Qualified in Business Management, Paul Thomas, in his 26 years of serving the cause, has created impact in the lives of over 2.5 million households across the 12 States of India. He had addressed in various national and international forums such as Harvard Business School, The European Microfinance Platform-Luxembourg, International Labour Organization (ILO) – Geneva. Paul’s commitment has received several national and international honours, recent of this being finalist in the European Microfinance Award-Financial Inclusion through Technology 2018.

    Thomas John Muthoot, Chairman & Managing Director, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, the flagship company of Muthoot Pappachan Group, elected as the Vice Chairman of CII, Kerala State Council for the year 2019-20.

    Muthoot Fincorp is one of the biggest NBFCs in India, with a network of close to 3600 Branches across the Country. The diverse economic activities of the Muthoot Pappachan Group include Retail Financial Services, Hospitality, Real Estate, Automotive, Power Generation, and Health Care.

    Johnie – as he is fondly called – is the third-generation leader of the 131 years of legacy in trading, retail and retail finance. He has been actively involved in the business since his school days, before taking over from his father, late Muthoot Pappachan.

    Johnie is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School. Born on 7th June 1962, Johnie is married to Preethi, a successful entrepreneur herself, running one of the highest rated & ranked independent heritage restaurant, Villa Maya, among other ventures. The couple are blessed with a son and daughter.
