South Indian Bank Organised `Drug Free Campus’ Campaign

PATHANAMTHITTA:
South Indian Bank has conducted an extensive anti-drug campaign ‘Drug Free Campus’ at MGM Central School & Junior School, Kodumon, Pathanamthitta, to raise awareness about the adverse effects of drug abuse among the student community. The campaign is organised as part of bank’s CSR initiative. 

Prabhakaran Pillai, Preventive Officer, Excise Dept. Pathanamthitta has conducted the awareness session for the students. John Samuel, Administrator of MGM Central School & Junior College, Smitha Raj, Principal, MGM Central School & Junior School, Ajish K Chandran, Chief Manager, South Indian Bank, Jisha Deena John, Senior Manager, SIB Regional Office Thiruvalla, Divya N. Menon, Branch Head, SIB 
Ezhamkulam & Jomon T. John, Branch Head, SIB Kodumon  were present at the event.

This campaign was aimed to raise awareness about the adverse effects of drug abuse. Bank’s initiative comes on the backdrop of a state-wide anti-drug campaign launched by Government of Kerala to put an end to the social menace of increasing drug abuse in the society.

The Campaign that started in Thrissur will be conducted in selected educational institutions in various parts of the state. Awareness classes led by officials from Excise department and Narcotic Cell will also be part of this campaign.  Events like poster making competition, mime, street play with the participation of students, parents and teachers will also be organised to encourage active participation.
