    PANAJI:
    Upgrade (a Unit of Kakode Trading LLP) introduced in Goa a unique business event, Upgrade Connect. The event was held recently at Panjim Community Centre, Mala and witnessed some of the biggest national as well as international brands in the construction, infrastructure and interiors segment gathered under one roof.
    The Swachh Bharat seminars saw prominent speakers including Rajendra Arlekar, Cabinet minister andilip-s-shirodkar-businessman-was-the-winner-of-the-mega-prize-honda-navi-biked Sidharth Kuncalienker, Vice Chairman of GSIDC and MLA – Panaji Constituency spoke on the way forward to a clean Goa. They were involved in an informative session about innovative ways to keep your home and surroundings clean. The event was powered by Kaercher (one of the largest manufacturers of cleaning equipment), which is well
    known across the globe for its work in cleaning different monuments of the world.
    Two pre-event competitions were organised and the winners of the same were announced at Upgrade Connect. The events being: a drawing competition with the theme ‘Swachh Bharat’ and an Essay competition with the theme ‘Upgrade India’. Not only did the visitors view the shorlisted entries at the event, but Upgrade Connect also hoped to hand over the best works to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To add to the excitement, a lucky draw was organised on the last day which was won by Dilip Shirodkar. The mega prize for the lucky draw was ‘Honda Navi bike’.Prizes were given out every hour.
    The first place in the Open to all category for the essay writing competition was bagged by Karthik Shankar from Mumbai who received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The second place was bagged by Umesh Padmanabha and Shaila Wagle who received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 followed by two more consolation prizes. The first place in the School category for the essay writing competition was bagged by Eric Sequeira from Sharda Mandir High School who received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The second place was bagged by Vidhi Borkar, Bhatikar Model High
    School who received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 followed by three more consolation prizes.
    The first place in the Category A (4 th Std & below) for the drawing competition was bagged by Pauravi Paresh Naik from Mushtifund English Primary School who received a cash prize of Rs. 5000. The second place was bagged by Sanvi Naik and third place was bagged by Varad Suraj Usapkar who received a cash prize of Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 respectively followed by consolation prizes, Judges appreciation award and youngest participant appreciation respectively.
    The first place in the Category B (5 th Std to 10 th ) for the drawing competition was bagged by Prajwal Manish Jaiswal from Mumbai received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000. The second place was bagged by Vidhi Sanjay Shet and third place was bagged by Sonam Panandikar received a cash prize of Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 followed by consolation prizes and Judges appreciation award respectively.
    The first place in the Category C (Open to all) for the drawing competition was bagged by Shyamni Sasisharan , Margao received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000. The second place was bagged by Shailesh Chanekar and third place was bagged by Vrundavan Asolkar received a cash prize of Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 followed by consolation prizes and Judges appreciation award respectively. The prizes were given out at the hands of Maendra Alvares, Ravindranath
    Pai Kakode & Priti Kakode.
    The banking partners of HDFC Bank maintained their presence during Upgrade Connect, educating people about the finance options available. Young Indians, who were the knowledge series partners for the event, also actively promoted their initiative ‘Gift an Organ’ to sign up a larg
    er base of organ donors.
