MUMBAI:
YES BANK is celebrating the ‘Joy of Giving’ week, through a virtual volunteering programme for employees and their families helping spread happiness and cheer, in partnership with HelpAge India and Parkinson’s Society India. As this unique year progresses, YES BANK is turning the focus of its #ZimmedariSeTayyari initiative inward to engage with communities and social environment more thoughtfully.
From October 2 – 8, 2020, the programme is offering an opportunity for employees and their families to virtually volunteer for activities that bring joy and smiles to senior citizens, through HelpAge India and Parkinson’s Society India, during official working hours.
Key activities under this programme, include:
Talent or Entertainment Sessions
(HelpAge India and/or Parkinson Society India)
Employees and their families may volunteer as a group (3+) to conduct sessions on yoga, storytelling, music, singing, dancing or Antakshari with elderly citizens
The hour-long sessions will be hosted on Zoom/Microsoft teams/ Google hangouts Lending An Ear (HelpAge India and/or Parkinson Society India)
In these unprecedented times, the elderly maybe longing for moments of authentic human connections and the volunteers offer to speak to them over a phone call – to just hear them out
Volunteers may also choose to support the NGO by interviewing Persons with Parkinson’s disease (PWP) whose health condition has improved over time
Further, volunteers may assist the NGO project coordinator in translating the training or counselling sessions with PWP, from regional or local language to English
