THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Animation Masters Summit organized by Toonz Media Group will be conducted at the Park Centre, Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram on May 4th and 5th.
The two day long international summit will be attended by various media experts from different parts of the world. The summit will be inaugurated on May 4 th by media and animation veteran Ashish Kulkarni at 9 am in an event attended by the who is who of the industry.
Professionals including Oscar award winner Resul Pookkutty, gaming expert Aravindan Neelakandan, YouTube South American Head Antonine Torres, Ogilvy and Mather Creative Director Kiran Antony, ‘Baahubali’ fame visual effects expert PC Sanath and many others will give expert talks during this summit. Interactive sessions and workshops will be conducted under the guidance of the media and technology experts. Around 400 members within India and overseas who are connected with animation and media industry will attend the two day long summit. The summit will honour the patriarch of animation VG Samant with the ‘Legend of Animation’ award.
The upcoming summit is the 19 th edition of Animation Masters Summit which was launched by Toonz Media group in 1999. According to Toonz Media Group Chief Executive Officer P Jayakumar, “The global media industry is changing tremendously and at a fast pace. The Animation Summit aims at presenting new trends which can give a fresh vigour in the cultural and industrial sector by incorporating the modern technology as well as the fresh possibilities in media arena.” He added, “Summits like this will give a helping hand to talented Indian youth in animation field and thus uplift them creatively and technologically to global standards.”
The summit has also organized the fourth edition of ‘Flying Elephant Competition’ a film competition under the categories short films, students’ short films and live action short films. Around 2000 entries from various Asian countries have been registered for this competition. Eminent Director Adoor Gopalakrishnan will give away awards to the short films selected by the expert jury panel during the summit finale. The Animation Summit will end on May 5 th .
