Kochi: Communist Party of India (CPI) which is a constituent of the LDF-led Kerala cabinet has raised serious corruption charges against Ernakulam Collector Rajamanickam and demanded his removal from his current posting.
P Raju, Secretary of CPI Ernakulam District Committee demanded his suspension and an inqiury into the alleged shady deals of the Collector. He has alleged massive corruption in the Bhoomogeetham Fundraising programme and the the land deal of Santhosh Madhavan, a fraudulent godman.
There are unconfirmed reports about a rift between CPM, a major constituent of the ruling front and CPI over the action against the collector.
