Cochin Port Trust to honour Best Performers

KOCHI:
Best Performing Port Users and Outstanding employees of the Port will be awarded on the occasion of the ‘Cochin Port Day’ on 25th May 2018 at Samudrika Hall, Willingdon Island.
Justice P. Sathasivam, Governor of Kerala will be the Chief Guest during the Port Day celebration. A ship for public visit has been arranged at BTP berth, near North End, Willingdon Island from 09.00 a.m to 04.00 p.m on that day. Employees and family members will stage variety entertainment program during the celebration.
The construction of the inner harbour from the year 1921 is deemed as the transformation of Cochin as a modern and safe Port. The first ship-SS Padma entered the inner harbour through the widened and deepened Cochin Gut on 26 th May 1928. Old photographs on the making of Cochin Port are on display at the Maritime Heritage Museum of Cochin Port Trust situated at North End, Willingdon Island.
