MUMBAI:
The RannSamar Foundation, under the aegis of its president Advocate Abha Singh and her mother, Tara Singh, organised an Art Camp and Competition for the young children of Dharavi at their legal aid center situated there. More than 100 children participated. Topics like “Save the Girl Child”, “Environment Protection”, “Clean India” got the first, second and third prize. All others got consolation prizes for participating. The hidden talent of the children is being brought to the forefront through various competitions.
The RannSamar Legal Aid Centre at Dharavi provides free legal assistance to women facing Domestic Violence and other kinds of legal injustice. Legal awareness programs covering topics like “How to make RTI” and “How to register FIR” are conducted frequently at the centre. The RannSamar Foundation strives to ensure that people from underprivileged sections of society are better-equipped to fight for their rights.
