New Delhi: It is reported that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will introduce a new psychometric test to determine the aptitude of the Class 9 students in October this year

The move is prompted by the initiative taken by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry reduce the pressure on students with regard to their performance and career choices.

Class 9 has been chosen because this is the period when students get the time to assess their performance and make career choices.

The aptitude of the students will be determined through psychometric tests including questions on numerical, verbal and diagrammatic reasoning.

This is totally different from the earlier test for Class 9 students. The notable feature of the test is that no preparation is required for it. Another advantage is that parents will also get a picture of their child’s framework and abilities.
