Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has planned a Techstars Startup Weekend from February 15 to 17, in association with Google for Entrepreneurs and IIMK LIVE.
Startup Weekend is a 54-hour week –end event, during which groups of developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts, marketing gurus and graphic artists pitch ideas for new startup companies. They form a team around those ideas and engage in developing a working prototype, demo, or presentation by Sunday evening.
Startup Weekend events are generally composed of 60-120 participants. In addition to attendees, the event attracts speakers, coaches, panellists, sponsors and company representatives.
A good share of teams end up working together beyond the startup weekend to build a fully operating startup and others take with them the bootcamp experience and a network of like minded people. At the culmination of the Weekend, the team will get five minutes to present the product or service before the panel of experts.
