Health Minister Shailaja Teacher opens HLL’s Hindlabs Diagnostics Centre & Specialty Clinic’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Health Minister K K Shailaja Teacher today inaugurated HLL Lifecare Ltd’s Hindlabs Diagnostics Centre & Specialty Clinic set up in the capital city at a cost of Rs 10 croreto provide quality healthcare at affordable costs.
The Health Minister also inaugurated the Vaccine unit, which offers paediatric and adult vaccines, and distributed free health check-up cards to auto and taxi drivers plying today at the centre, which is located in the TRIDA Sopanam complex outside the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
Electricity and Devasom Minister Kadakampally Surendran opened the Specialty OP Clinics at the centre. The clinics include General Medicine, Diabetology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedic clinics, which operate in two shifts from 9 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm.
The centre has a Tele Radiology Hub and a Pharmacy. A Satellite Blood Collection Centre was also opened.
According to a national healthcare survey, Rs 2.9 lakh crore is spent on diagnostics and medicine annually. Central Government PSU HLL, which has evolved from a contraceptive company to one that provides high quality healthcare at lowered costs, offers diagnostic services and medicines at prices up to 20 to 90 per cent lower than the MRP.
Also present at the inaugural event were HLL Chairman and Managing Director R P Khandelwal, Director (Marketing) Dr Babu Thomas and (Technical & Operations) Director E A Subramanian.
