CEAT, India’s leading tyre manufacturer, launches the CEAT ‘Circle of Safety’ initiative, a new way of social distancing across Ernakulam and other cities of Kerala.
The free placement of these stickers ensures that customers either at a kirana store or tyre dealerships, follow social distancing norms while carrying out day to day activities. The CEAT Circle of Safety stickers replace the circles drawn by shopkeepers outside shops. CEAT has reached out to more than XX tyre dealers and kirana/ grocery stores across Kerala. This circle of safety will ensure social distancing for customers while they are doing basic things like buying essentials.
Apart from the circle of safety CEAT, to ensure social distancing is carried out everywhere while a person is travelling, CEAT has also distributed the Social Distancing umbrellas at their tyre shops. Two open umbrellas that are not touching each other will ensure a meter distance. The social distancing umbrellas were made by women at Kudumshree, which is the poverty eradication and women empowerment programme implemented by the State Poverty Eradication Mission (SPEM) of the Government of Kerala. CEAT has distributed around 1000 umbrellas till date across Kerala and
plans on distributing 1000 more.
Amit Tolani, Chief Marketing Officer, CEAT Tyres Ltd, said, “We at CEAT understand the power of social distancing and how it will help flatten the curve. Kerala state government has done a commendable job to contain the virus and we wanted to extend our support in a small way by providing circle of safety stickers and umbrella’s as a solution to “break the chain”. We plan to support Kirana stores and tyre dealerships in a similar manner in other cities across the state to help reinforce the compliance of social distancing and slow down the spread of this highly contagious disease”. Along with Ernakulam, CEAT has implemented the Circle of Safety initiative across Kerala.
