THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The rural initiative section of Young Indians Thiruvananthapuram Chapter donated 23 smartphones to the students of Pozhiyoor Government School in the coastal belt for their online classes.
At the function held with following the Covid protocol, Neyyantinkkara MLA Ansalan received the smartphones from Young India chapter chairman Jijimon Chandran and handed over to the students. Receiving the smartphones, Ansalan appreciated the efforts of Young Indians in providing smartphones to the students who were facing severe difficulties in the Covid period.
Jijimon Chandran said that the smartphone distribution is the continuation of the social welfare activities carried out by Young Indians Thiurvananthapuram Chapter. He pointed out that oxygen concentrators were given to Shantivila Thaluk Hospital, Pazhavangadi Fort Hospital and Nedumangad District Hospital by Young Indians.
Young Indians were also distributing Covid protection materials to the needy during this time. There are also plans to undertake more social welfare activities, he added.
