  • Minister P Rajeeve Opens TRASNA’s New Office in Technocity

By NE Reporter on November 1, 2024

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Minister for Industries Coir and Law P Rajeeve inaugurated the new office of TRASNA – an Ireland based semiconductor providing company, at Kabani building, Technopark Phase IV, which becomes Kerala’s first semiconductor facility.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the choice of TRASNA to locate a key facility here marked a paradigm shift in the industrial ecosystem of Kerala, enabled by the upfront policy initiatives of the state government.

“A reverse migration is happening in Kerala right now as many international companies are opening offices and manufacturing facilities in the newly rejuvenated industrial landscape of the state, opening immense opportunities for our skilled work within the state itself,” said P Rajeeve.

“Our skilled work force is of high demand and the global companies that have started functioning here are onboarding employees from the state itself, which is why we are focusing on knowledge-based industries,” he added. “With TRASNA starting their new manufacturing facility in Technopark Phase IV, it can act as an anchor industry in this sector to attract more companies to the state,” noted the Minister.

The company will closely work with India Semiconductor Mission- an initiative of Central Government to develop semiconductor ecosystem in the country.

“We are starting our operations in two weeks’ time. We plan to make semiconductor chips out of Kerala and our team will work closely with Digital University of Kerala for this process. We will start Research and Development wing and also manufacturing facility in coming years,” said Stephane Fund, Group CEO, TRASNA Technologies Solutions.

“TRASNA has chosen the right place at the right time for its semiconductor journey as Technocity has all the ingredients for any knowledge-based business to flourish. We have DUK here and Kabani building with all the facilities and a space park is coming up,” said Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd.), CEO, Technopark.

Harikishore, Managing Director, KSIDC, Executive Director KSIDC Hari Krishnan R IRTS, Prof A Mujeeb, Registrar, Digital University Kerala attended the inaugural ceremony held at Digital University of Kerala.

A two-acre site has been provided for the company’s operations in Technocity. Initially, the firm will function in a temporary facility in Technopark Phase-IV.

TRASNA is expected to create at least 500 jobs initially. While its permanent campus is under development, the company will work in the temporary facility in the Kabani building by setting up labs.
