  • KBF Welcomes Anu Menda as Platinum Benefactor

By NE Reporter on October 24, 2025

    KOCHI:
Anu Menda, Chair, RMZ Foundation (RMZF), Bengaluru, has joined the growing list of Platinum Benefactors of the Kochi Biennale Foundation with a five-year grant supporting the KBF activities.

She joins the list of our distinguished Platinum Benefactors – Kiran Nadar, Mariam Ram, Shabana Faizal, Sangita Jindal, Adeeb Ahmed, and Shefali Varma.

As Chair of RMZ Foundation, Anu Menda has championed the integration of art into public and urban spaces, creating opportunities for dialogue, reflection, and community connection. Her belief in the transformative power of art – to communicate, inspire, and empower – continues to shape RMZ Foundation’s efforts to make art accessible and inclusive across India.

“As Asia’s largest contemporary art festival, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB) has emerged as a landmark platform for exchange and creative expression. RMZ Foundation is privileged to support this transformative movement, reflecting our commitment to advancing contemporary art, broadening cultural access, and fostering dialogue across diverse communities,” said Menda.

This is evident in her leadership roles as a Global Council Member at the Delfina Foundation, London; a Cultural Ambassador for the Asia Society India Centre; a patron of the India Foundation for the Arts; a member of the CII National Committee on Arts and Culture, the Crafts Council of Karnataka, the World Crafts Council and the Bangalore International Centre.

Her association with KBF as a Platinum Benefactor shows a shared vision of fostering accessible, community-rooted cultural experiences.

“We gratefully acknowledge Anu Menda’s generous support of the Kochi Biennale Foundation,” said Thomas Varghese, Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation. “Her generosity reinforces our belief in the KBF as a shared space for artistic exchange, education and the preservation of cultural legacies,” he added.

KBF is a non-profit organisation dedicated to art and education. Founded by a group of artists in 2010, it organises KMB, India’s first and South Asia’s longest-running Biennale, every two years.

The sixth edition of the Biennale opens on 12 December 2025 and runs through March 31, 2026.
