    The two programmes offered are:
1.MA in Ecosophical Aesthetics: A first of its kind post graduate programme for two years which is designed to hone budding ‘art writers’. Ecosophy combines ecology and philosophy. The programme is essentially ‘art journalism from ecosophical perspective’ The program me includes a philosophical appreciation of all art forms – music, dance, literature, theatre, cinema, painting etc with a focus on writing and ecosophy is the connecting thread.

    2. MA in Art and Peace studies: An innovative post-graduate programme which attempts to connect art and peace studies from a philosophical perspective. Peace – personal, social, ecological and international – is a final purpose of life which is also very much in need and art adds flavor and meaning to life. The programme intends to achieve peace of every kind through art. It includes areas such as society, polity, development studies, gender studies, Gandhian studies, journalism, media and international peace and different forms of art such as music, dance, theatre, visual arts and cinema.

Both the programs will be for a duration of 2 years and will consist of 4 semesters. There will be a mandatory internship during both of them.

Commenting on both the programmes, Prof Varadesh Hiregange, Director of the Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Science said , “In the world we are living in today, a deeper understanding of contemporary ecological crises and social and international crises is highly important. I believe these courses will help students explore the ‘root’ of different issues and help them understand the way within. The aim of our department is to cultivate writers with wisdom who can contribute in the fields of journalism, philosophy, ecology, arts and sciences”
