Aster DM Healthcare Ltd., a leading healthcare enterprise connected to Kerala, clinched 4 of the most coveted recognitions at the 6thIndiaHealth and Wellness Awards, instituted bythe Integrated Health and Wellbeing (IHW) Council, India’s premier holistic health think tank. Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State of Social Justice & Empowerment, presented the awards to the winners during a virtual ceremony.
Aster DM Healthcare Limited, founded by Kerala-origin entrepreneur Azad Moopen, bagged a ‘Silver’ award in the COVID Protection Project, while Aster@Home received the award in Home Healthcare Brand category. It also won a ‘Bronze’ award in the Health Innovation category in which Aster MIMS, Kottakkal received the ‘Silver’ award. The hospitals of Aster DM operate in India and 7 other countries.
Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State of Social Justice & Empowerment joined the virtual event from Aurangabad, said, “COVID has increased trouble for many fellow Indians and I congratulate the winners; we will continue to fight coronavirus together.”
Other prominent healthcare brands from southern India include HealthCare Global Enterprises Limited, winner in the COVID Management category, YourDOST Health Solutions, winner of the ‘Gold’ award in the Mental Health Brand categoryand HCL Healthcare, winner of the Health Workplace Brand category.
The Special Jury Award went to The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, and the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) for their multi-pronged COVID management effort and efforts to reduce anaemia for an ‘Anaemia Mukt Bharat’, respectively.

IHW’s India Health and Wellness Awards recognises the contributions made to the country’s holistic health that we are promoting for the last 6 years,” said Kamal Narayan, CEO, IHW Council.

I feel privileged to be a part of the jury and it gave us all immense pleasure to go through the nominations,” said JVR Prasada Rao, former union health secretary and a member of the IHW Awards jury.
Other members of the jury of 6thIndia Health and Wellness Awards included Dr. Atul Mohan Kochhar, CEO, National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), and Dr Ravi Mehrotra, CEO, ICMR Consortium, Dr. Vijay Agarwal, President, Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), Dr Girdhar Gyani, Director General of Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), and Dr Hema Divakar, CEO of Asian Research & Training Institute for Skill Transfer (ARTIST).
