After a break of some months, the corridors of Cochin Medical College, Kalamassery, resounded again with vibrant Biennale music as singers Krishenendu Thinkal and Yahiya Azeez gave a live performance as part of the ‘Art and Medicine’ show here today.

Krishnendu, a music graduate from Maharajas College, Ernakulam and a native of Njarakkal began the show with ‘Moham Kondu Njaan’ from the 1983 movie Shesham Kaazhchayil. The singers teamed up to render a dozen songs in Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil to huge applause from the gathered crowd of patients, bystanders and hospital staff.
“To be able to bring solace to patients through music is a remarkable idea. The Biennale Foundation acting as a catalyst behind the scenes is worthy of praise,” said Krishnendu.

Meanwhile, Yahiya Azeez, a singer who is an indispensable personality when it comes to Biennale music events showcased his musical expertise with his sprightly participation. He also wound up the show with the evergreen song, Oru Pushpam Mathramenfrom the 1967 Nazir starrer, ‘Pareeksha’.
Apart from Krishnendu and Azeez another singer Jimson sang the number ‘Pramadavanam’ from the 1990 Mohanlal starrer ‘His Highness Abdullah’ adding spice to the whole event.
