Rama Rao remarked that his party had no objection if women took up activities like knitting or even break-dancing in buses while mentioning that such situations should not lead to scuffles. The remarks were met with sharp criticism from various groups.
In a social media post, Rama Rao apologized, stating he never intended to offend women, saying, ‘I am sorry if our women sisters were offended by the usual comments made in the party meeting yesterday…I never had the intention to offend my sisters.’
Women and Child Welfare Minister D Anasuya demanded that the BRS leader apologize to the women of Telangana over his comments.
