“Linguists should take up a mission to create an epoch for the prosperity of Malayalam language”, said Prof. M.K Sanu.
He was inaugurating the concluding session of the week-long ‘Bharana Bhasha Vaarakhosham’ jointly organized by University Kerala state Audit Department and Women’s Welfare Organization at CUSAT seminar complex auditorium. “People who work in the field of science and technology need to put in the effort to create simple and right technical terms in Malayalam”, he added.
“We must restore the soul of our mother tongue which is present in everyday life as water and air”, said Poet V.M Girija while addressing the audience. Dr. P.G Sankaran. Pro- Vice Chancellor, Dr K Ajitha, Registrar, P Sudha, Joint Director, Kerala State Audit Department, CUSAT and Dr Sailaja G.S, Associate Professor, P.S&R.T Department and President of Women’s Welfare Organisation spoke at the function. University employees presented various art forms highlighting the importance of Malayalam language. Soumya Sajikumar presented a dance performance on the famous lullaby “Omanathingal Kidavo” by Irayimman Thampi.
