KOCHI:
Department of Physics, Cochin University of Science and Technology, has been recognised by Department of Science and Technology with a FIST Level-II funding. The recognition is based on the work excellence in the field of physics research and education over the past five years.
CUSAT Physics Department was selected from more than 100 projects submitted by various institutions. At the national level, only three institutions have received FIST Level-2 accreditation this year, including CUSAT. The other two institutes are the Department of Physics, University of Aligarh and the Department of Physics, University of Delhi.
The approval enables the Universities to use Ten Crore rupees for flagship research projects. “With this recognition, CUSAT Department of Physics got more national acceptance”, said Vice-Chancellor Dr. K. Madhusoodanan, appreciating the Department.
