KOCHI:
The 2nd Annual Conference of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Society (GIOS) concluded emphasizing the crucial role of prevention and daily health habits in combating colorectal cancers (CRC). The three-day event held in Kochi brought together over 200 oncologists, gastroenterologists, and medical professionals from across the country and the world.
Experts highlighted that just one hour of exercise or engaging in a healthy activity is mandatory for a healthy life. Preventable damage should be prevented with regular physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.
This year’s conference was dedicated to colorectal cancers, a disease with a rapidly increasing global incidence. Attendees participated in a series of workshops covering the latest surgical, radiation, and genomic aspects of CRC. A particularly well-received highlight was the special session on non-operative management, which featured insights from renowned national and international faculty. The collaborative discussions highlighted the latest advancements in prevention, screening, and treatment, providing invaluable knowledge to all participants.
