  • HFCL Limited and VVDN Technologies Jointly set up a Model PM-WANI Village

By NE Reporter on March 11, 2021

    NEW DELHI:
Leading Indian Wi-Fi brand IO by HFCL Limited jointly with VVDN Technologies, a leading product engineering & manufacturing company along with i2e1, a leading core solutions provider, today announced setting up of a model PM-WANI village in Baslambi, Haryana. This model village will provide high speed Wi-Fi to all residents of the otherwise poorly connected Village Baslambi located in Farrukh Nagar Tehsil, Gurugram. The model village showcases HFCL IO’s PM-WANI compliant Wi-Fi Access Points integrated with core solutions by i2e1, an IIT Delhi-based startup that has been one of the major contributors towards conceptualizing the PM-WANI model whilst working closely with TRAI and DoT.

The village residents are now connecting to PM-WANI compliant Wi-Fi, getting authenticated through the app or mobile OTP, and are able to access high-speed Internet, thereby gaining digital connectivity to all governance, educational, entertainment and several other services.

Relying on its indigenously developed secure Wi-Fi solutions and utilizing its high performance point-to-point radios for bringing high-speed backhaul connectivity to this remote village, HFCL jointly with VVDN’s expert wireless teams have created a robust high speed Wi-Fi network integrated with i2e1 core providing Internet services in the area for the use and benefit of the locals. VVDN Technologies, a premier product engineering and manufacturing company, has been the preferred manufacturing partner of HFCL for Making in India all their Wi-Fi and unlicensed band radio solutions.

HFCL strongly believes that PM-WANI, together with the Centre’s ambitious BharatNet initiative, will augment broadband uptake across the length and breadth of our country.

On setting up of this model village, HFCL’s Executive President, Jitendra Chaudhary said, “We at HFCL are committed towards bringing the most innovative Make in India products that shall compete globally with the biggest brands in the industry. This model village is another step we have taken towards realizing our Government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat showcasing our capability in designing, developing and manufacturing high technology products in India. This is also a platform demonstrating our faith in PM-WANI scheme as a major driver in providing broadband connectivity to the unconnected. We are committed to our honorable Prime Minister’s vision of making India an Innovation Hub.”

Experiencing the Internet performance himself in Baslambi village, the CEO and founder of VVDN, Bhupender Saharan stated, “This deployment is a working model of the PM-WANI scheme and lays the blueprint for many such deployments across the nation. Keeping in line with the vision of PM-WANI scheme, this initiative aims to elevate wireless internet connectivity in the region thereby boosting “ease of living”. The initiative aims to make the residents of Baslambi truly Atmanirbhar in their internet needs with seamless connectivity. This is another step towards realizing PM Modi’s Digital India mission.”

“We are excited to partner with HFCL, one of the unique Make in India OEMs that are focused not only on cost competitiveness but also offering industry leading performance, reliability and features at par or better than any global brand. Seeing the performance in this model village further enhances our belief that we do not have to rely on any foreign technology to make the PM-WANI scheme and Atmanirbhar Bharat vision a reality,”said Satyam Darmora, Founder, i2e1.
