IIM Kozhikode to host Global Entrepreneurship Summit – ‘Start-O-Sphere’

KOCHI:
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) will host Start-O-Sphere, the global entrepreneurship summit on 10 September, 2016. This summit will provide a platform to the students to connect with industry gurus and indulge in discussions with like-minded people.
The event will host renowned speakers from various sectors. Ravi Kant, Former Vice Chairman and Former Managing Director of Tata Motors, Rana Kapoor, Founder, Managing Director & CEO Yes Bank, Tim Eddy, Global Vice-Chair, Business Enablement Shared Services and Global Talent Hubs, EY, Manisha Rana, Marketing Consultant, Former – Head of Marketing at Magicbricks.com, E Sreedharan, Retired Indian Engineering Service officer popularly known as the “Metro Man”, Vijay Gopalan, CEO of UDS, Former CFO at Air Asia, Hari Nair, Founder & CEO, HolidayIQ are among the many distinguished guests expected to grace the summit.
The summit will see a host of activities ranging from workshops and panel discussions to mega events like 10 minute million as listed below:
Start-up fair cum 10-minute million will extend an opportunity to budding entrepreneurs to raise funds for their ‘Big Ideas’. The start-ups are invited to register for the startup fair in the portal from which rating shall be given by a panel of investors and mentors. About 20 finalists will be chosen to make a 10 minute pitch during pitching event. Start-ups in validation and scaling phase shall pitch their ventur
es to attract funds from angel investors, venture capitalists et al, and also attract students and start up enthusiasts for hiring opportunity.
Start-o-sphere will also host a workshop on design thinking which would help to develop practical and innovative solutions for the problems
Workshops will be conducted by renowned industry bigwigs, IIM professors, and successful start-up champions who will provide budding entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and frameworks to make their job easier
The Management Hackathon is a pioneering initiative to resolve managerial problems. It is a collaborative effort focused on generating solutions to management challenges. The Management Hackathon will also help the participants to equip with the skills to become inspired management innovators
Every link in the chain of a successful start-up will come together to discuss and debate on the raging topics of the entrepreneurship world. Aspiring entrepreneurs will also get the opportunity to give voice to their opinions and be heard by the who’s who of the business world
