Kerala Police Cyberdome is organizing its 5th edition of International Hackathon in June 2021. Hac’KP is a platform for tech geeks and other enthusiasts to come together to design and develop innovative and critical solutions for Kerala Police to effectively handle the emerging cyber threats.
HacKP 2020 with a mission to code for future policing, was a huge success that went on for a period of 40 days and had more than 100 teams with participants across the globe. The platform enabled programmers, designers and inventors to collaborate and design, code and build innovative solutions for future policing by providing pertinent solutions to present day policing problems. Top 11 teams were first identified that provided different innovative solutions to the different problem statements identified by Cyberdome and after final pitching, coding and evaluation, the top 3 teams were awarded with INR 5 lakh, 2.5 lakh and 1 Lakh respectively.
Following the trend set by HacKP 2020 and the continuing menace caused by the pandemic, Hac’KP 2021 will also be going virtual, but with a whole new flavor and form!
This year’s hackathon will be on the theme -“demystifying the dark web”. Unlike the past years, the objective will be to create a single solution for the various requirements of law and order organizations while working in the realm of Darknet. The final product/solution is expected to equip the Police to device applications on Advanced Darknet Search Engine for LEAs, intelligent Darknet Monitoring and Dissecting the Darkweb.
Hac’KP’s skilled mentors will provide adequate directions and support to equip the participants with knowledge, resources, opportunities and conflict management. The online platform will provide them opportunities without restraints of location and time zone.
With attractive prizes worth lakhs for top performers and winners, the hackathon was officially flagged off on 15th February 2021 followed by the release of logo on February 24th. With the website made online by Loknath Behera, State Police Chief, registrations have begun and will close on April 10, 2021.
