Amid rising expectations towards relaxing complete travel restrictions across the board, passengers are in good numbers moving from one place to the other. Especially, the Kerala RTC has seen an overwhelming response in the inter-state bus travel resumed from Kerala to certain routes in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, as there has been a huge traction witnessed in these routes, reveals Abhibus.com, a leading online ticketing aggregator in India.
This trend clearly indicates early signs of revival of the ailing industry which is adversely affected by the pandemic COVID-19. Enthused by the encouraging traction of Kerala RTC and the auspicious Onam festival which will help boost the occupancy across the routes, the Kerala private bus operators are also looking at resuming their operations across multiple routes connecting Kerala with other southern states.
More than 250 bus service are currently available for the passenger to buy tickets on Abhibus.com platform. This facility is providing a seamless commute option to the people of three southern states to reach their respective destinations safely. Kerala RTC is currently running its buses in over 100 routes connecting more than 35 cities. All the bus operators have been strictly monitored by Abhibus to ensure the regular sanitization; fumigation is taking place while social distancing is maintained in each stage of the travel.
During the last one month, Abhibus had recorded 200% increase in daily enquiries from Kerala routes and over 10,000 passengers have already utilized the services in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, Abhibus said, “Kerala is one of the progressive states in the country and one of the first victims of the virus. But it could effectively control the situation with efficient controlling measures. Since the state has allowed to resume inter-state bus services from Kerala, we have seen a huge traction in these respective routes. This would really encourage other states to follow the suit as it is the need of the hour to permit the travel without any hassles between the states. We are hoping that the government of India would pave the way for uninterrupted and seamless travel across the country to promote the travel industry which has been bleeding severely and at the cusp of collapse”.
Being the IT capital, Bengaluru has the highest number of bus services available as there are 32 regular Kerala RTC bus services up and running.
