Kozhikode: Prashanth Nair, District Collector of Kozhikode, offered unconditional apology to Kozhikode MP, M K Raghavan, fearing departmental action for denouncing an elected representative through social media.
M K Raghavan MP had lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister against the collector’s rude behaviour and protocol violation.
Besides, there were reports that M K Raghavan would raise this issue in the Lok Sabha, which in turn would invite action on the collector who is an IAS officer.
Also, a civic forum led by prominent personalities in Kozhikode has announced a public meet in the city on Monday to condemn the collector’s brazen behaviour.
Veekshanam daily, a pro-Congress daily newspaper, unleashed a scathing attack on the collector through an editorial.
Sensing grave trouble, the Collector who played smart with the member of Parliament, apologised unconditionally, to save his skin.

The spat between them started over the issue of the the collector delaying the development projects in Kozhikode under the MPLADS ( MP Fund).
