Starting an E-commerce platform is a part of the state government’s vision to explore the modern possibilities of marketing for its traditional products made by the state PSU’s said Minister of Law, Industry and Commerce P. Rajeeve .
He also said that KShoppe started its operations by utilizing all the methods of modern e-commerce platforms such as payment gateway and delivery. In a ceremony held at Hycinth Hotel, the Minister inaugurated Kshoppe by ordering a dhothi from Hantex through the portal. Thiruvananthapuram Assistant Postmaster General Dr. Vishnu Ambarish handed over the Dhothi to the Minister. The minister informed that in the next step, the operation of the e-commerce platform will be extended outside India. The government’s policy is to strengthen state public sector institutions and make them profitable. PSUs except some in the electrical and textile sector are currently performing well. The state has a good industrial environment.
The state government has taken over the land for the industrial corridor approved by the central government in a record speed. 80 percent of the land was acquired in 10 months. In December 2022, the state government started the process for this. The government has already spent Rs 1789 crore for this. 1710 acres of land has been acquired. The approved cost for the project is Rs 3806 crore. The entire share of the state government has already been spent. The Minister also informed that the Center has appreciated the steps taken by the State Government in this regard. It is hoped that the first phase can be completed quickly. The Minister added that the Global City adjacent to this can be started soon. The Global City project, located on 358 acres, has a cost of Rs 850 crore. The project, which was earlier named Gift city, has been renamed as Global City.
