  • KSIDC-IIMK Promoted Wedviser MobileApp

By NE Reporter on June 23, 2018

    KOCHI:
Wedviser People Connect (P) Ltd., a Kerala-based start-up recognised by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Government of India launches Wedviser, an exclusive mobile matrimony app for Indians across the globe.
The mobile app which is funded and supported by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) and
incubated under the IIMK LIVE program of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode is designed to be used by potential brides and grooms, their parents, other close relatives and friends to find matrimonial matches through their social connections.
“KSIDC has extended mentoring support and funding to many entrepreneurial initiatives imbibing innovative technology. Wedviser will be a revolutionary app bringing the much needed values back to the technology-driven World. We are happy to extend funding support to such ground-breaking start-up ideas that are expected to grow as the poster boys and girls of Kerala IT;” said Dr. M. Beena, Managing Director, KSIDC.
Wedviser enables the prospective users to form their own family and friends group to exchange ideas, share opinions and views to find a suitable match through a well-integrated chat platform. Hence the app ensures that a proposal is routed through the user’s network of family and friends. The advanced Machine Learning algorithms coupled with social networking principles give the users the best possible matches and connections.
Built-in Artificial Intelligence ensures that the system is suggestion driven rather than search-driven, and candidates can immediately engage in conversations on their Wedviser exclusive chat. It is common knowledge that divorces are increasing at an alarming rate in India, as well as it is in the West. Parents are finding it difficult to sustain the traditional, closed-loop way of searching for a life partner for their children.
This is losing acceptance among the present generation, always leading to clashes when it comes to finding a suitor. Current generation of parents, to some extent are comfortable letting their children find their own partners but are apprehensive about the outcome – especially considering the dependency of their children on the digital world. It bothers when one checks out people on the unreliable digital platforms since mostly it is all about curated images and personas that one encounters. Only the recommendations of a sensible network of friends and relatives, who really know a person and his real self, can generate leads when it comes to relationship for a lifetime.
Wedviser offers a chat platform where in matchmaking is done in the conventional method employing a software
    driven innovative technology.
“Wedviser, as an innovative match-making platform designed specifically for Indian matrimony, is certain to be a preferred platform for prospective brides and grooms soon. This is primarily because the idea is deep-rooted in behavioural insights on “how matches are made in India”.
Wedviser’s innovative business model may also trigger a revolution in app-based advertising and brand promotions in mobile platforms as it aims to bring to the wedding industry a unique consumer engagement approach which revolves around contextual conversations. At IIMK LIVE, we are proud of the launch and wish them a big success;" says Dr. Keyoor Purani, Professor, Marketing Management, IIM, Kozhikode.
Wedviser services doesn’t cease with the matchmaking process. It continues into wedding planning and grooming of bride and groom. Wedviser will also connect its user base to wedding-related vendors (e.g. jewellers, boutique dressmakers, wedding planners, etc.) through customized chat-bots, allowing them to have meaningful conversations with many popular brands and bringing them exciting offers.
“In a world fuelled by connections – Facebook for friends, LinkedIn for professionals etc. – this will be the first app that helps you invite your most trusted family members & friends and to create a network of advisers who will help you find the as-close-to-perfect partner as possible. Wedviser is a solution that will be acceptable to the parents as well as the new generation ready to find a partner for life;” says Binod Hariharan, Managing Director, Wedviser People Connect (P) Ltd.
The proven match finding process that stands the test of time has been through close network of friends, relatives and other acquaintances. The trend towards a nuclear family culture and micro families settled in different parts of the world, has made this practically difficult. Wedviser enables family members and well-wishers to come together on the same platform and make it possible in today’s world.
