  • KSUM’s Idea Day in December to Focus on Healthcare Sector

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
    The Kerala Startup Mission’s (KSUM) unique financial aid project, Idea Day, will focus on medical and healthcare technologies in its December edition to support and encourage innovations in the sector.
    As part of this monthly event, Dr. Sreejith N. Kumar, Consultant in Diabetes Medicine, will give a lecture on the topic “Medical Technologies – Scope for Innovations” at the Sree Chithra Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, MS Valiathan Block, Biomedical Technology Wing, Poojapura on December 2 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
    Dr. Sreejith is the Chairman of the IMA Professional Equipment Protection Scheme and the Indian Diabetes Education Association. He is also the former President of the IMA and a member of the Medical Council.
    Idea Day was initiated by the KSUM in September to provide funding for innovative projects, ideas and products from college campuses.
    The program invites applicants working on novel projects from the Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Centers (IEDC) in 196 colleges across the state and technology product startups from outside. It also encourages entrepreneurship among the general public.
    Shortlisted candidates are invited to pitch on Idea Day, and selected projects are given funding in the Idea Grant, Prototype Grant and Scale-up Grant categories. People having their own primary model and idea of a product and startups registered in Kerala or in incubators can apply for innovation grant through Idea Day. A grant of up to Rs 12 lakh could be provided for a product that has potential for global marketing and development.
