An investment meet by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is set to be held this Saturday with the aim of encouraging nascent firms up the state, as ‘Ignite Kozhikode’ will hold master-classes explaining the challenges before traditional industries and ways to overcome them.
The November 19 conclave, which is being held as a warm-up to the ‘Seeding Kerala’ global investment meet in February next year, will host lectures on ensuring investment for startups, aiding startups to receive investments and enlightening its owners on the legal and technical aspects of such matters.
The event at Hotel Apollo Dimora will also hold an Investor Café — and aims to enable 25 select startups to interact with investors. The sessions, will be led by top startup investors such as Vinod Keni (Indian Angel Network), Vishesh Rajaram (Speciale Invest), Vinay James (Smart Parks), P.K. Gopalakrishnan, Shilen Sagunan (both of Malabar Angels, Ajith Moopan (Kerala Angel Network), Kruti Raiyani (Lead Angels), Vijetha Shastry (Dexter Capital Advisors), Arvind C. Namdev (Ah Ventures) and Aditya Jaiswal and Ram Kartha (both from Eques Capital), besides angel investor Abhilash P.A.
The expert talks will be on value assessment of startups and legal matters to be considered while accepting startup investments. Leading startup investors from Kerala will interact with entrepreneurs in Malabar, sharing their professional experiences and views on the scope and challenges of investment in startups. Ignite Kozhikode will conclude with a networking dinner involving startup founders and investors.
