KOCHI:
Altair India, an American heavyweight in the software industry, is likely to collaborate with Maker Village, India’s largest hardware electronic incubator.
An indication to this effect was made by Pawan Kumar, Vice President, South Asia and Managing Director, Altair India, while inaugurating the ‘Tech-day’, organised by Maker Village at Kinfra Park, Kalamassery on Thursday. Kumar said investing in intellect is an inspiring thing and Maker village is leading the way in several aspects.
“It’s interesting to know that several youngsters are coming up with exciting enterprises and startups. Above all, the attitude which was once prevalent in Kerala — ‘to work for other’ — is slowly changing and that’s a good sign. At this juncture, the role played by Maker Village in order to make available the seeding capital, mentorships and technology workshops is praiseworthy,” he observed.
Prasad Balakrishnan Nair, CEO, Maker Village, said the support given by Altair India in the field of mentorship and creating awareness in technology is highly significant. The ‘Tech-day’ was organised to emphasise the importance of simulation technologies from Altair, spanning across mechanical, electronics, controls and embedded software disciplines.
On the occasion, team members of Altair India, comprising Madeshwara, Chandrakumar, Hemath Duraiseti and Sumit Pillai, also spoke.
