Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is now ranked as the second top-ranked private university in India according to the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Ranking 2022. In the 18th edition of the rankings, MAHE figures in the 751-800 band, among 1673 analyzed universities and 1300 institutions ranked from 93 countries. MAHE’s performance was noted among the top 58 percent in the Rankings this time.
For the Quacquarelli Symonds, World University Ranking universities are evaluated on six performance indicators: Academic reputation, Employer reputation, student-to-faculty ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio. Four of the indicators are based on hard data, and the remaining two are based on major global surveys – one of the academics and another of employers – each the largest of their kind and for the 2022 Rankings, QS has analyzed over 96 million citations from more than 14.7 million recorded publications, before evaluating 1300 Universities.

For QS World University Ranking the subject-wise ranking was announced earlier this year where Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences was ranked in the 151-200 range in the Pharmacy and Pharmacology discipline with domestic rank 2. Kasturba Medical College, Manipal was ranked in the 351-400 range in Medicine with domestic rank 3, which is the same as the previous year’s rankings, and biological sciences in the 501-550 range with domestic rank 14.

In the Asia University Ranking 2021, MAHE ranked in the band of “351-400”. Overall, MAHE has shown significant improvements in terms of its scores in all the parameters, compared to the previous year. In the NIRF national rankings 2020, MAHE is placed at No. 8 and recognized as one of the top 10 Universities in India. Several other ranking agencies in India, have in their 2020 surveys, found MAHE to be the best private university in the country. Education World has ranked MAHE the top private university for the sixth successive years.
