KOCHI:
The container toilet at Jose Junction, M G Road, Kochi sponsored by Cochin Shipyard in association with CREDAI Clean City Movement and Better Kochi Response Group (BKRG) was inaugurated by Mayor M Anil Kumar today.
The toilet is for the men, women, physically challenged and transgenders. It is made inside a 20 feet container suitably modified. The interior of the toilet is finished in high quality aluminium panels so that it can be maintained hygienically. A ramp is also provided for wheel chair access. The toilet is designed by Kumar Group Architects.
The initiative of Cochin Shipyard is to provide public toilet which is clean and well maintained as part of their CSE program.
They joined hands with CREDAI Clean City Movement for management and maintenance. CREDAI Clean City Movement is already maintaining such toilets at Atlantis Junction, Ravipuram, M G Road and Kakkanad. CREDAI Clean City Movement is the authorized service provider of Suchitwa Mission Government of Kerala providing solid waste management service to high rise residential complexes in 7 cities of Kerala. S Gopakumar, President, BKRG (Better Kochi Response Group) and Dr Najeeb Zackaria, President, CREDAI Clean City Movement also attended the function.
