Reliance Foundation Youth Sports National Championship

Goa’s Rosary Higher Secondary School and Rosary Commerce & Arts College are placed in a unique position to win a double title at the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports National Football Championship, starting from Friday, 30th December 2016 in Mumbai.
Both the Senior Girls and College Boys teams of Rosary School and Rosary College had won their respective Goa Leg Finals earlier this month, and will now compete for the coveted inaugural year RFYS National titles.
laced in Group A in the College Boys category, Rosary Commerce & Arts College will open its campaign against Indira College of Commerce-Pune on 30th December at Fr Agnel Ground, while the Senior Girls team of Rosary Higher Secondary School will face Chaturdash Palli High School-Kolkata in their season opener at Cooperage Ground on 31st December.
Goa’s challenge in the Senior Boys group is spearheaded by Government Higher Secondary School who will take on Mamta Modern Sr Secondary School from Delhi at Cooperage Ground on 30th December. Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School from Cortalim, Goa will compete in the Junior Boys category and play their first match against St. Joseph’s Residential School-Chennai at Cooperage Ground on
31st December.
With a total prize money of Rs 16 Lac, the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports National Championship in Mumbai will see a conglomeration of the best of 32 teams in four categories and from eight cities compete for the top honours.
All the matches will have a four-camera set up to live streamed on RFYS website www.rfyouthsports.com. Top two teams in each group will qualify the semi-finals to be played at Cooperage Ground on 4th & 5th January 2017, with finals scheduled on Saturday, 7th January 2017.
Launched this July in partnership with AIFF and ISL Clubs, the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports has earned appreciation from the participating school and college institutes for the organisational skills in conducting the competition in a conducive environment for the participants to compete in a professional set up.
In the last four months, the competition has witnessed over 25,000 players participation with 2700 football matches scheduled among 2500 registered teams from 1800 educational institutes, reaching to over 2 million students through football in this duration.
