Schindler India, a leading provider of elevators and escalators, a 100% owned subsidiary of Schindler Group, celebrates 20 years of providing top of the line Urban Mobility solutions in India. At this occasion, a gathering of all employees was held at The Lalit – Mumbai, which was attended by Silvio Napoli – Chairman, Board of Directors Schindler Group, Karl Hofstetter – Group General Counsel, Schindler Group Board, Thomas Oetterli – CEO, Schindler Group, Rob Seakins – Member of Group Executive Committee, Asia Pacific, Uday Kulkarni – President, Schindler India & South Asia, and Shubha Arora – Chief People Officer, Schindler India & South Asia.
At the occasion, Uday Kulkarni – President, Schindler India & South Asia said “It is a very special moment for Schindler India. All our employees are fully dedicated to developing and delivering highly innovative and user-friendly mobility solutions to move India – safely & reliably. Schindler is the first multinational company to have both elevator & escalator manufacturing facilities in India. Leadership through Customer Service is our goal and we are fully committed to being close to the costumer – with our new production facilities as well as our service presence across 50 major cities.”
The IGBC Platinum awarded Schindler India elevator manufacturing facility has been fully functional since the beginning of 2014. The campus is spread across 200,000 square meters and houses an elevator factory, a 71-metre tall elevator test tower, a global R&D centre, Schindler University training centre and a new escalator plant.
Schindler India started as a green field company in India 20 years ago and Thomas Oetterli – CEO, Schindler Group states “India has always been a very important market for Schindler and one that the world is watching.
