  • Speridian Technologies’ Hackathon 2025 Fetches Innovative AI Solutions

By NE Reporter on July 8, 2025

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, and startup Vitalview AI won The One AI Hackathon 2025 conducted by Speridian Technologies.

Speridian Hackathon 2025, held here on Saturday, saw the contestants coming up with innovative AI-based solutions for real-time issues faced by customers in banking, financial, healthcare and manufacturing sectors.

The contest saw the participation of 18 teams, including 11 from engineering colleges of Kerala and seven Kerala-based startups.

Amit P, Nandagopal VS and Akash Prasad of TKM College of Engineering unveiled a prototype capable of listening to real-time doctor-patient conversations and auto-generating structured SOAP (Subjective Objective Assessment Plan) notes within seconds.

Built using Generative AI and trained on medical dialogue datasets, it identified key symptoms, history, and diagnoses, significantly reducing documentation time. The system could also integrate Agentic AI to pull relevant EHR history, promising to combat physician burnout and reclaim patient face-time.

The team received first prize of Rs 1.5 lakh in the engineering colleges category.

“The prototype AI-hacks used by the teams to solve real-time industry grade problem statements within a tight deadline shows the potential of our youth in AI sector and also the vast scope of AI in healthcare sector, ” said Shri K P Hari, co-founder and CFO of Speridian Technologies.

In the startup category, Vitalview AI consisting of team members Amal Shehu, Abhijit and Ashwin Murali won the first prize Rs 2 lakh.

The winning team showcased a prototype that used AI to predict equipment failures before they occurred, analyzing sensor data to forecast issues and recommend specific replacement parts.

The system can deliver real-time insights to maintenance teams and autonomously schedule interventions, significantly reducing downtime. This innovation offers a leap toward zero-unplanned-outage manufacturing.

In college category, Mehtab Arif, Nandana Rajesh, Revathy P S of Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Trivandrum were adjudged as the runners up who received Rs 75000 as cash prize while Febin Nelson P, Abhiram Ashok, R Harikrishnan of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology (RIT), Kottayam won the second runners up, receiving a cash prize of Rs 25000.
